23/08/2010 - Trails Night & AGM

A reminder that our Trials Night takes place this Wednesday, 25th August. This will take the form of a 3rds v 4ths match, KO 6.30pm. Regular players should already be aware of this via the respective Managers. ie Turns and H for the 3rd team and Strodey and Lee Nels for the 4ths. If you have any family, friends or workmates who may be interested in playing for us this season, then invite them along. Bring your own shorts, socks and boots, and shirts will be provided.

This will be followed by a BBQ (or a hot meal, depending on the weather) and the 2009 AGM in the main bar (agenda attached), starting around 8.45pm.

Note that the AGM includes a proposal to increase subs to £18 per month, so please make every effort to attend this, even if you can't make the Trials match. If you can't attend, then please let me have any comments/feedback on this proposal, or any other issues related to the Club.

Thanks.

Dave Nelson

25/02/2010 - AXA U18's Manager Wanted!

We formed a new AXA Under 18 team this season, largely consisting of players from last year's successful Bradley Stoke United U16 team, who play in Division A of the Bristol Under 18 Football Combination on Sunday afternoons.

Unfortunately, the Manager we appointed at the start of the season has had to step down midway through the season, for personal reasons. We are, therefore, seeking to appoint a new Manager as soon as practicable.

Therefore, if you are interested in undertaking this role, or know of any friends or family who may be interested, please contact me (07791 586574) or Simon Hartley (07970 744063) asap.

Thanks.

07/08/2009 - New 1st Team Manager - Steve Winter

Winter's the new AXA boss

Friday, August 07, 2009, 07:00 - Extract from Evening Post

Gloucestershire County League promotion hopefuls AXA have appointed Steve Winter as their new manager.

The former Almondsbury Town assistant boss, who enjoyed a professional playing career with Walsall and Torquay United before making the switch to Forest Green Rovers, steered Shirehampton to a second-place finish in the Somerset County top flight in his first season at the helm last term.

AXA vice-chairman Simon Hartley said: "Steve's got great credentials on and off the field and his ambitions as a manager match ours as a club."

Winter takes over from Gavin Tufton, who is recovering well from a chest operation.
